Repaired the damp/ant damage on the walls and started to install cement board that we can tile over. Green board for the rest of it
Did much scraping of the walls to get rid of the plaster residue and got the bath installed with its drain and plumbing.
Not sure why the bath took me so long, but i ended up re-jigging the ledger about 5 times until i figured out how tall it needed to be - mental block.
We're going to leave the waste pipe as it is rather than boxing it in, and paint it in a new white finish. Meant to look a bit 'industrial' and hopefully better than it used to when it was boxed in with mold-blackened drywall.
Also had to level the floor as it was a horrible mess. Used the leveling compound but failed to notice it draining under the bath and filling voids that i didn't want filling. had to bail it out quick before it set.
Tiles are down so more to come...

Ant and water damage. and the old flooring that was covered by layers of vinyl and floor leveler. Spared every expense! |
